Case Study Provides Hope for Migraine Sufferers
Migraines are a debilitating condition experienced by approximately 37 million people in the US alone. In 2012, a case study was published in the Journal of Upper Cervical Chiropractic Research that may bring hope to these and many others around the world dealing with this condition.
The study focused on a 75-year-old-female who presented with post-concussion syndrome 10 years after an injury, which was a concussion due to a fall. During the 10 years after her injury, she consulted various doctors including neurologist and cardiologists. Finally, she received help when one of her neurologists recommended upper cervical chiropractic care.
Even though she received CT scans and MRIs after her fall, apparently none of the doctors were looking for an upper cervical misalignment. Finally, one neurologist told her that the post-concussion syndrome was being caused by a misalignment, and so she sought the right kind of help.

At the time of her upper cervical consult, the woman was dealing with:
- Migraines
- Balance problems
- Seizures induced by posture and activity
- Fatigue
- Lazy left eye
Results of Upper Cervical Care on Her Migraines and Other Symptoms
After just one adjustment, the following differenced were noted:
- No more migraines
- Seizures resolved
- Better balance
- Less fatigue
- Improved range of neck motion
- Lazy eye improved and later resolved
Imagine how much suffering this woman could have avoided had her earlier doctors only known what to look for in her diagnostic imaging results. You may have particularly noticed that her migraines resolved after just one correction.
If you are experiencing migraines, an examination could determine whether or not a misalignment is involved. Correcting such a misalignment helps the brain and body to communicate better. Pressure on the brainstem can also be removed. Thus, help may be provided for migraine sufferers without the use of prescription drugs.
